Management Is The Process Of Achieving _____ Through People And Other Resources. A) Profits. B) Societal objectives. C) Status. D) Organizational objectives.

What Is Management? | Answer of MCQ

The correct answer of this mcq is (D), as the Management is the process of achieving common goals by the utilizing of human resources and human capital and other resources such as financial, physical, technological and environmental resources in order to complete the job tasks successfully.

Functions of Management

There are four (4) primary functions which include planning, organizing, leading and controlling which are must for proper managing organizational works. All of these functions must be combined to accomplish organizational objectives & goals efficiently and effectively.
1. Planning involves setting objectives & goals, setting time to achieve those goals and identify the desired course of actions (also alternate course of actions, in case, a plan is failed, then choose another one) to implement the plans.
2. Organizing is the process of sorting and arranging of set plans i.e., assigning the tasks to capable and right persons  to do the jobs efficiently and effectively.
3. Leading function is related with the motivation and giving guidance to the team members working in organization to help them in achieving organizational goals.
4. Controlling function is the process of comparing actual performance with set goals, i.e., evaluation of the results, and take actions to correct and prevent the weaknesses made in achieving set goals.
A manager must make plans, organize these plans i.e., assign tasks to the right person, provide guidance in achieving those goals, and control the situation by identifying problems and takes decisions to solve the issues / problems. To achieve organizational objectives every team member should follow desired course of actions leading towards the accomplishments of these organizational goals.

The option (A) is not the correct choice as the overall objective of management is not limited to profit motive. Instead, it works in the broader way i.e., what strategies should be implemented to achieve all the organizational goals whether these are related to profitability, quality of products, etc., in order to gain overall success at organizational level.

The option (B) is also incorrect, as the management is also not limited to societal goals & objectives. In fact, the organization is established to provide benefits to the society as a whole i.e., by providing facilities to the people, by providing solutions to their problems, e.g., they need food, cloth, shelter, health, water, infra structure, education facilities, etc., and the organization provide these facilities to achieve one of its organizational goals by using management.

The option (C) is also wrong choice here as the management is the process to achieve overall objectives of the organization and not just limited to achieve only the status for the organization. By achieving all of these objectives and goals, now the organization has good status in the society and in the market. It becomes more popular and famous (having high reputation) and good standing among different people including employees, customers, group members, teams, societies, competitors, law-making agencies, government agencies, etc. It is all due to the utilizing of proper management by professional managers in an organization.
