Handling Disturbances, Allocating Resources, And Engaging In Negotiations Are Activities That Fall Under Which Category Of Management Roles?
In case of depression period of economy, the manager must make the
decisions about what steps to be taken to survive in this period. During this
period, he should take bold decisions to escape the organization in this
difficult situation. He should take actions to face the crisis in order to achieve
organizational objectives & goals. For example, if sales is down during the
depression period, then he should corrective actions i.e., improve the quality
of products & services, offer free delivery of products at customer’s door,
hire professional staff, etc.
For resources allocation, which include physical, human, intellectual and
financial, the manager must decide which is the best utilization of these
resources? For example, where to use the financial resources is the decision of
financial manager. If the investment in a product is beneficial to the society
and profitable for the business and ultimately the organizational goals are
achieved, then financial resources must be used efficiently and effectively in
that way.
For making negotiation with internal and external parties, the manager
should make the right decisions in dealings with parties who are agreed to
solve the particular issue occurred between them. The solution to this problem
helps the organization to achieve common goals. For example, if there is a
conflict between the organization and the outside organization which is a IT
company, then negotiation between them can lead them to an agreement and the
issue can be resolved between them which increases cooperation between them and
as a result they made such negotiation between them that to expand the growth
of the organization, the manager make an agreement with IT company for 5 years for
improving the technology system in the organization in exchange of financial
resources.
