Management Skills Required By Managers At Every Level Of Organization
1. Planning
A manager should be a good planner. He should have plan A, b and c if plan
a is failed then plan b should be implemented and so on. Planning includes
setting goals, assign tasks, scheduling tasks in order to achieve the organizational
objectives.
2. Organizing
Organizing is the arrangement of tasks, resources, people i.e., assigning
the right task to the right person, in order to accomplish common goals.
3. Leading
Leading means to give guidance and direction, influencing, motivating the
people towards the path necessary for achieving organizational goals. A good
should be a good leader as well in order to lead from the from and set an exemplary
lesson for others working in an organization.
4. Controlling
Controlling in management means make ensuring that the plans are
implementing in the right direction and if something is wrong then make
correction in order to achieve organizational goals.
5. Take Decisions
A manage should make right decision at the right time. In difficult
situation, he should decision what plan should be made to cope with this
difficult situation. For example, if sales is decreasing day by day, what
should the company do to increase sales again i.e., knowing the reasons of
decline in sales such as sales decline due to low quality of products or services,
dissatisfaction of customers, etc.
6. Good Communicator
A manager should be a good communicator to convey the message effectively
to target audience.
7. Delegation
A manager should also delegate his authority to right and trusted person who
is able to perform the tasks effectively.
8. Innovative
A manager should also be innovative to adapt himself to the changes prevailing in the market. For example, if there is a need to change the plan, then he should do it to accomplish common goals. If new technologies are used to work effectively in the office, then should make decision on it and adopt such changes helpful in achieving organizational goals and objectives.
